The Acerreta Valley
Borgo Corniola is located in the beautiful unspoiled Acerreta valley, far from traffic and city life where you can truly immerse into nature and disconnect from the outside world. Remember, mobile phones do not ring (no network) … only silence, peace and relax!
Borgo Corniola is part of a 21,000 mq park spread over three levels of different stone structures connected together with stairs and little squares.
Food
At Borgo Corniola a rich breakfast buffet is provided, leaving complete autonomy for lunch and dinner. You can also use to a shared kitchen, dining room and outside barbeque.
At 2 km, reachable on foot, there is an agriturismo with a typical menu. Besides, you can also taste the local cuisine in the numerous farms, trattorias and restaurants all reachable in no more than 20 minutes by car (ask to managers for more information).

Accordingly to the season and the weather, our guests can enjoy the day at Borgo taking advantage of the indoor and outdoor space, and the wellness area opened every day from 2.00 PM to 7.00 PM
In winter time, relax, the warmth of the fireplace, the walks on the snow. In summer, all the park is available to enjoy open air, the sun and the bath in the stream.
At Borgo everyone lives with his own rhythm, dedicating to relax and well-being (saunas, aufguss, hot tub) or to other activities such as walks, trekking, excursions in the surrounding areas.
You can immerse into silence, solitude and meditation thanks to the pristine natural environment.
During weekends life at Borgo is focused on Sauna, opened also to external customers.
The Surroundings
Lutirano, the nearest town, is situated 4 km away: a few houses and a small emporium where you can find all kinds of essential goods (e.g. food and cigarettes).
Moreover, Tredozio located 10 km away: a small and charming town of 1,300 inhabitants where you can find a pharmacy, bank, some grocery-stores and some “trattorias”. Definitely a nice village to visit!
At 14 km there is Modigliana : a small town with a convenient supermarket on the way.
Then Marradi is 20 km away: a tourist village with the railway station connected to Florence and Faenza. It is the homeland of the famous poet Dino Campana, a place rich in history and events as much as delicious trattorias and restaurants where you can taste the real Tuscan gastronomy.

The history of the Borgo
Borgo Corniola has truly ancient origins. In the thirteenth century it was a Ralais, a rest-stop where travellers could take shelter and allow horses to regain their strength during their travels across Tuscany. Due to its particular location it became a point of reference for those who were crossing the Tuscan-Emilian hills to reach Florence.
Thanks to the splendid river Acerreta, which laps at its walls, the Borgo, was, over the centuries, transformed into a mill. The central structure has grown over the years to become a building with two wings. In the right wing we find the River Suite with its fabulous relaxation room equipped with all modern comforts. In the other wing, we find the Wayfarer’s Quadruple Room and the Master Double Room. The central building is also home to a welcoming common area, with fireplace and hardwood table, which can be used as a dining room and is where breakfast is served. The spacious taverna, which also has a stone chimney, is the perfect place to spend your evenings, in an atmosphere of days gone by.
